buying a gift

Buying a gift is important and happens to us sometime or the other and therefore requires a good communication skill if we are looking for something specifically.

Salesman: "Hello sir! May I help you?"

Customer: Indeed you may. I'm looking for a birthday present for my daughter.

Salesman: Very well sir, would you go for some wearing material like jeans, tops, shorts, Bermudas?

Customer: Oh no! She is a grown up one and has lots of clothes. Besides, I'm not sure my choice will exactly match hers. What about that watch?

Salesman: It is Rado, the American watch.

Customer: Looks good. But then there are other watches like Omega, Cartier.

Salesman: Well. They are costly ones. What is your budget?

You have these Japanese ones, Seiko, Casio etc.

Salesman: Well, exactly speaking sir, it is not a watch shop. So we have selected items. Why don't you have a look as this wall Clock? There is a Cuckoo bird also which announces hours. Children will be quite fascinated by it. You have grand children?

Customer: Yes, Thank you. May be they will welcome it. Is there anything else?

Salesman: There is Chinese Ming vase (laughs). Of course it is an imitation but a very clever and beautiful one. Have a look at it.

Customer: You're right, it looks very attractive.

Salesman: You'll excuse me sir.

There is a bit of crowd. You can call me when you have made a choice if you fancy paintings.

There is a piece hanging over there it is quite attractive. There is a price tag attached to every

item. You can take your pick.

Customer: A moment pleases, I think I have made my choice, the price also suits me. Will you please pack that vase for me?

Salesman: Sure sir. Thank you.
